OPI Stay The Night

Okay, hope everyone is have a good weekend. Here is the first of the four new liquid sand polishes from OPI.

Stay The Night - This is a sheer black base with red glitter. I did this really quick late last night, but it has really good application and coverage. It dried quickly and the texture is pretty cool. I put it on top of Wet N Wild Black Creme. I used Seche Vite on top of the Black Creme. No top coat on top of Stay The Night.

OPI Mariah Carey Collection

I stopped by Ulta today and picked up six of the OPI Mariah Carey polishes. I didn't care for the other two colors, which is why I didn't get all of them. Also it seems that Ulta has raised its prices for OPI polishes from 8.50 to 9.00, at least for this collection.

I'm very excited to try out the liquid sand polishes and should have something to show you if not later tonight then definitely tomorrow morning.

The ones I got are

Stay The Night - This is a liquid sand color (liquid sand are matte glitter polishes)- its a sheer black base with small red glitter

Can't Let Go - This is a liquid sand color - its a sheer purple base with lighter medium hex purple glitter and small dark purple glitter

Get Your Number - This is a liquid sand color - its a sheer light blue base with small holo glitter

The Impossible - This is a liquid sand color - its a sheer red base with medium hex red glitter and red star glitter.

A Butterfly Moment - This is a champagny peachy/pinky/beige shimmer

Sprung - This is a shimmery copper foil polish.

This is today's haul. As soon as I get a mani going with them, haven't decided where to start yet, I'll get it posted.

Orly - Matte Vinyl - This is a matte black polish.

Zoya - Trixie - This is a silver metallic polish.

No top coat used.

China Glaze - Hey Sailor and Orly - Mermaid Tale

China Glaze Hey Sailor - This is a bright tomato red.

Orly Mermaid Tale - This is a green glitter that flashes blue

Green & Red Christmas Nails

Just a week before Christmas and today I have green and red nails for you.

OPI - Color So Hot It Berns - This is a wonderful bright red polish. Nice Application and Coverage

On top of that we have Nabi green crackle polish. This is a cheap crackle that they had last year at Walgreens. It has pretty good cracking effect.

OPI - Jade is the New Black - This is a nice Christmasy green. This is one of my favorite green polishes. Good application and coverage

On top that we have OPI Red Shatter polish. Mine is getting a little thick but it still has pretty good cracking effect.

Topped with Oh So Wet! This is a different quick dry top coat I found at Sally's that I've decided to try. Drying time was good and it has a really good shine to it.

Ulta - Ruby Slipper

Here is another holiday mani already. I have so many new polishes that I'm trying to get through as best as I can.

Ulta - Ruby Slipper - This is a dark red shimmer polish. The depth of this polish is awesome, although you can't tell it by the mani I have here. But I will do another with this polish by itself at some point. This is a wonderful jewel toned polish with good coverage and application.

China Glaze - Fairy Dust - Does anything really need to be said about this one, we all know how awesome this polish is.

Stamping done with Bundle Monster plate BM311 and Konad white stamping polish.

Topped with Seche Vite

OPI - DS Indulgence

Happy Hump Day everyone. Here is another holiday mani

OPI - DS Indulgence - This is a light red shimmer with gold micro glitter shimmer. Like all of the DS polishes the gold effect in this polish is awesome. Its hard to tell from the pic but at times it looked like fire. I really like this polish.

Ulta - Envy Snow Nails

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Its that time again, time for Holiday so get ready for lots of red and green :) For today we have green

Ulta - Envy - This is a dark emerald green. Although its hard to see on this mani, this polish has awesome depth to it. I love this polish.

The little snow flake decals are from Creme holiday stickers.

The dots are Wet n Wild White Creme using the smallest size dotting tool

Essie Sssssexy

So Essie has now jumped on the magnetic bandwagon with their new Repstyle collection.

The magnet on this one was kind of picky at first, I had to hold it a certain direction for each hand and then it worked okay.

Its better than some and not as good as others, but I really like the color, its not as pink and a little more red than most of the other brands.

BornPrettyStore Flocking Powder

I've been seeing this around for a while now and I finally ordered some in black from the BornPrettyStore.

This is a really interesting concept in texture and I was really looking forward to getting it. Unfortunately I found it disappointing.

Its very messy and a pain to apply. It didn't last long for me, by the end of the day most of it was gone, and the fingers that accidentally got wet, the flocking turned hard and yucky.

Estee Lauder Smashed

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

I have one today from a brand I've never used before.

Estee Lauder- Smashed - This is a grapey purple shimmer with purple & blue ultra micro glitter. I really like the color of this one. Application was good but not any better than other polishes. Coverage was okay, it seemed a little thin at the base. Again not any better than other polishes. Nothing about this polish really makes it worth its $20 price tag.

China Glaze Cranberry Splash and China Glaze Get Carried

Happy Friday, hope everyone has a good weekend. This one is a little messy, I apologize, I did it really quick last night.

China Glaze - Cranberry Glaze - this is from the new holiday collection. This is a medium red shimmer. This is a pretty polish, although its a bit runny and messy during application.

China Glaze - Get Carried Away - This is from the Cirque Du Soleil collection. There is a lot going on with this polish. Its a sheer black base with medium silver hex, medium black hex, medium red hex, small black, small silver and black bar glitters. Delivery of the glitter is pretty good for the small pieces although it does require a bit of patting for the larger pieces. This is a really fun polish.

While I was out and about today, I unexpectedly but very happily ran into something I've been looking for a long time, actually its been so long that I haven't ever seen it, that I had completely forgotten about it until I did see it. Northern Lights - Gold. I have the silver but this is the first time I've ever seen the gold. ~does a happy dance~

I also picked up a bottle of Seche nail polish just to give it a try.

China Glaze Blue Bells Ring and China Glaze Glistening Snow

Hope everyone is having a good mid-week. Today I have a bit of an early Christmas mani. These are both from China Glaze's holiday collection

Blue Bells Ring - This is a sapphire blue foil polish. This is an awesome polish. It was great in one coat but I did do two just to get it a little darker

Glistening Snow - This is a silver very fine micro glitter with holo pieces. Unfortunately the epic doesn't capture the sparkle it has in real life.

Seche Collage Overlay

After looking for weeks, I was finally able to get a bottle of this polish today.

Essie - Jangle Bangle - This is a lavender creme polish. It has excellent application and coverage. It is very close to being a one coat polish, although I used two just for a little extra coverage.

Wet N Wild - Black Creme - I've talked about this polish a million times, so I'll let it go.

Seche - Collage Overlay - This is a very awesome large white hex glitter, medium prismatic hex glitter and prismatic bar glitter in a sheer base over coat. The deliver of the glitter was a little difficult, patting is definitely needed for this. Other than that this polish is super shiny and glittery. I'm loving it.

Topped with Seche Vite

China Glaze White Cap

Here is one from last night. Its a little out of the norm of what I usually wear.

China Glaze - White Cap - This is a sheer white shimmer with gold ultra micro glitter. Very good application and coverage.

China Glaze Golden Meringue, China Glaze I Herd That, China Glaze Desert Sun, China Glaze Kalahari Kiss

Here is one I did the other day. I wasn't going to put it up because I hate the way it turned out, but I figured what the heck, may it can be an example of what NOT to do. :)

China Glaze Golden Meringue - This is a very sheer goldish peachy shimmer

China Glaze I Herd That - This is a really pretty bronzy glitter

China Glaze Desert Sun - This is a butterscotchy polish.

China Glaze Kalahari Kiss - The color of this is kind of hard to explain, its a dark creamy color.

No top coat.

Plaid Nails

Hope everyone who is celebrating is having a great Thanksgiving. Well for today I have my first attempt at plaid nails. They didn't turn out as good as I had hoped they would. But anyway, here they are.

I used Wet N Wild White Creme for the base. For the blue and green stripes I used China Glaze Firs Mate and Finger Paints Scenery Greenery. The little yellow stripes are Art Deco striping polish in Yellow.

Sinful Colors Winter Wonder

Happy Thanksgiving Eve to everyone who celebrates. I have a quick one for you today. I did this one really fast last night and I didn't do a real great job on clean.

Sinful Colors - Winter Wonder - This is a sheer dark blue base with pink, green and blue micro glitter. Application and coverage are very good.

China Glaze Creative Fantasy and China Glaze Whirled Away

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I have a couple from the new China Glaze Cirque Du Soleil collection for you today, in a jelly sandwich.

Creative Fantasy - This is a bright, almost neon, purple jelly. This polish has very good coverage and application even though its pretty sheer.

Whirled Away - This is a glitter polish with large white hex, small black hex and black bar pieces. It is in a clear base. I was really looking forward to this polish when I first saw it because its so unusual in its look, but its a little disappointing in the glitter delivery area. It is very hard to get the glitter on the nail and took me directly placing each piece to get it on. Once on though, I really like the look of it.

Topped with Seche Vite

Since my camera sucks for taking pictures of purple, I had to adjust the color a bit, and its still not exactly right, Creative Fantasy is a little more red based and bright than the pic shows.

Sinful Colors Mesmerize and Sinful Colors Faceted

Happy Hump Day all, half way finished with the week.

I want to apologize upfront for the really crappy pic. I don't know why my pics always have yellow/orange tint when I don't use the flash. I'm going to have to start looking at cameras although I haven't even had this one for a year yet. It just sucks.

Anyway enough camera rant, here is today's mani.

Sinful Colors - Mesmerize - This is really pretty grapey purple creme. Good coverage and application.

Sinful Color - Faceted - This is a small light purple and holo bar glitter in a thick clear back. Delivery of the glitter onto the nails was actually pretty good, but does require patting it on instead of brushing.

Wet N Wild Bijou Blue and Wet N Wild Black Creme

Hope everyone is having a good week. I'll get right to today's mani

Wet N Wild - Bijou Blue - This is a light blue shimmer polish. I used an undercoat of white on this polish to make it it pop a bit more. I has nice coverage and application for a sheer polish.

Wet N Wild - Black Creme - What can I say, this black rocks.

Zoya - Storm

Hope everyone is having a good week. Today I have one from Zoya's new holiday collection Ornate.

Zoya - Storm - This is a black polish with multi colored holo glitter in it. The is a really nice polish. Application was very smooth. The black is very sheer and requires three coats for good coverage and opacity.

ETA on 11/9/12 - After wearing this polish for a couple of days and being in all different kinds of light, I find it has a super super nice scattered holo effect. Very pretty. Unfortunately I wasn't able to capture it in the pic.

Orly -Torrid

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Today I did a mani I've been wanting to do for quite a long time. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out quite as well as I hoped. But I know what went wrong so next time hopefully it will be better.

Orly - Torrid - This is a bright red shimmer from Orly's 2012 holiday collection, Naughty or Nice. This is a really nice polish with good coverage and application. Perfect in two coats.

Then I topped with Seche Vite. Once it was dry I put a bit of clear polish on the tips and then added a piece of lace. Once the lace was in place I again topped it with Seche Vite.

OPI Skyfall and OPI Goldeneye

Another week over. Woo Hoo. So today I have a couple polishes from the OPI 007 Skyfall collection. I unfortunately couldn't get a great pic of them, so I apologize for the photo.

OPI - Skyfall - This is a maroon/brick red creme. Really nice application and coverage.

OPI - Goldeneye - This is a gold metallic foil with little bits of multi colored micro glitter. This the application on this is good. Its pretty sheer though for a foil even with two coats you could still see Skyfall thought it. That why I couldn't get a great picture. The only way to show it was to take it without a flash. With the flash you couldn't even see it. But it is a really nice shiney gold.

Happy Halloween

Alas the last Hallowmani for the year. I love Halloween its my favorite holiday. Hope everyone had a good one.

For tonight I used those polish strips. These are KISS Halloween strips. This is the second time I've used these strips. The first time didn't work well at all and they were peeling as soon as I was finished. These lasted better but I still had a hard time getting the tips right.

Orly Liquid Vinyl, Orly Orange Punch, Orly R.I.P.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Just a few more days until Halloween and I have a new Hallomani for you.

Orly - Liquid Vinyl - This is a black creme. The application is good, the coverage not so much. Like so many other black polishes, this is on the sheer side and require 2-3 coats.

Orly - Orange Punch - An orange creme. I really like this color although it is a bit sheer as well and requires two coats.

Orly - R.I.P. - This an orange hex glitter polish in a sheer black base. This is from Flash Glam FX collection.

OPI Funky Dunkey, OPI Atomic Orange - Wet N Wild Black Creme

Hope everyone is doing well. Six more days until Halloween and I have a new mani for you. Please excuse the band-aid, I cut my finger at work.

OPI - Funky Dunkey - This is one of my favorite purple polishes. Unfortunately my camera is stupid and doesn't know how to photograph purple. I had to adjust the color but couldn't get it right. This polish is actually darker than what I was able to show in the photo. The coverage and application for this is great.

OPI - Atomic Orange - since it just a tiny line I won't really say much.

Wet N Wild - Black Creme - my absolute favorite black.

Then add a little spider decal and we're all set for Halloween. This is a KISS Halloween decal.

Essie Fear or Desire, Essie Orange Its Obvious & Wet N Wild Black Creme

Start of the work week, hope everyone had a good weekend. I felt really crappy the whole weekend with a non-stop headache. So for today's Hallowmani I have a gradient that unfortunately did not turn out very well. I swear eventually I'm going to do the perfect gradient. In the meantime, here is this not so great effort. Sorry about the poor clean up, I actually did this yesterday when I was feeling really bad. I then I made a huge mistake doing the pics against the black polish so you can't really see the tips. I was definitely not with it.

I can't really say much about the coverage and application of these covers with this design, so I'll just identify the polishes.

Essie - Fear or Desire - this is a light orange creme.

Essie - Orange, Its Obvious - this is a bright dark orange creme

Wet N Wild - Black Creme - a shiny black creme

China Glaze - Zombie Zest

Hope everyone had a good week.   Yeeaaahhh for Friday.  For today's Hallomani I have an older polish.

China Glaze - Zombie Zest - This is from China Glaze's 2010 Halloween Collection "Awakening".  This is a slime green micro glitter polish.  Its very sheer and takes four coats for opacity.  But the application is very nice and smooth.

But wait - add a little China Glaze Goulish Glow and we have glow blood nails :)

OPI Live and Let Die

Hope everyone is having a nice Sunday, almost time for the new week and back to work. So here is today's Hallowmani.

OPI - Live and Let Die - This is from the new James Bond Skyfall Collection. This is a black polish with gold and green micro glitter which gives it a kind of greenish tint. This is great Halloween polish and would have been perfect in a Halloween collection. The application and coverage are good. Its a nice two coat polish.

Hmmmm I just notice that my page count has some how disappeared and I have to start from 0 again.   Not a happy camper.

OPI - If You Moust, You Moust

Finally Friday is here.  Hope everyone had a good week.  Well now, since October is the month of Halloween and breast cancer awareness month, I decided to combine them and do a Hallomani for the Cause.   :)

OPI - If You Moust, You Moust -  This is from this summer's Minne Mouse collection.  Its a very pretty carnation pink (the pic shows a little lighter than it is in real life).  This polish has good application.  It is a bit sheer, sheerer than you would think for this dark of a polish, but its good to go in three coats.

Stickers as KISS Halloween stickers.

OPI Need Sunglasses; OPI Atomic Orange; OPI Alpine Snow

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday. From the colors in the title, you probably guessed what today's Hallomani is, and if you guessed candy corn nails, you're right.

OPI - Need Sunglasses - I love this polish although it is very sheer and takes at least 3-4 coats for really good coverage. Still the application is good and its a great shade of yellow.

OPI - Atomic Orange - This is a great dark orange polish. Great cover and application.

OPI - Alpine Snow - This isn't the best white I've ever used, but its definitely in the top 5. It has good coverage at 2-3 coats and nice application.

No Top Coat was used.

China Glaze - Cast A Spell

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.   For today's Hallomani I have

China Glaze - Cast A Spell -  This is from the new Halloween Collection Wicked -  This is a dark olive green polish with gold flecks.  I'm not sure how Halloweeny this is, but I guess it could be like bog slime or something.  But since its from the Halloween collection, here it is.   This polish has really good coverage, this is pretty much a one coat polish but I used two to get the extra gold shimmer.   Application is smooth.

Orly Grave Mistake and Nubar Barricade

Hope everyone is having a good Hump Day. For today's Hallomani I have blood nails.

Nubar - Barricade - This is a light gray creme. I love Nubar polishes, I really wish they were available in stores. This is one of my favorites

Orly - Grave Mistake - This is a dark blood red creme from the Dark Shadows collection. This was a tad bit runny but overall a good polish and I love the color.

Its finally here, October 1st and time for Halloween manis.   Yeeaaaaa.   So from  now until the end of the month all of my manis are going to have a Halloween theme so get ready for a lot of orange and black  :)   For today we have

China  Glaze - Roguish Red - This is from China Glaze's new Halloween collection Wicked.  This is a reddish orange creme.  Good coverage and application and I love the color.   I don't have another orange quite like this one.

OPI Pink of Hearts 2012 - Pink Wednesday

I picked up OPI's Breast Cancer Awareness set,  so I thought I'd go ahead and use it today.   I have some friends who are breast cancer survivors and I lost my mom 30 years ago when she was 38 to a different type of cancer and my dad is currently in treatment (radiation and chemo) for throat cancer.  So I'd thought I do a mani in support of finding a cure for all of kinds.     And ladies, please be sure to do your monthly self-exam and if you in the age backet, get your mammogram.     Now to the polish

OPI - I Think In Pink -  This is a really sweet light pink.   Its kind of sheer and took three coats for complete opacity but coverage was smooth and I didn't get any streaks on the first or second coat.

OPI - You Glitter Be Good To Me -  This is a glitter polish with small pink glitter pieces and large fucshia hex pieces.  Delivery of the glitter onto the nail was pretty good.

I really like the look for both of these polishes together.

China Glaze - Bond Tastic

It officially fall and I have a fallish mani for today. China Glaze - Bond Tastic - This is from the Magnetix II collection. Its a pretty rust colored polish. Unfortunately the magnetic effect of it isn't very good. I used a powerful magnet from another collection to just to even a little bit of magnetic effect. I couldn't get anything from the China Glaze magnet. Overall great fall color, not so great magnetic effect.

Sephora by OPI It's Real 18K Gold Top Coat and Essie Bahama Mama

Hope its been a good week for everyone.   I have a fun new thing for today, so I'll get right to it.

Essie - Bahama Mama - This is a burgundy/berry creme.  Good application and coverage.  I really like this one.

Here is the new fun thing -  Sephora for OPI It's Real Gold top coat.   This is a top coat with real gold flakes in it.  The delivery of the flakes onto the nail was really good and it gives a fun look.

Just an FYI = both OPI and Zoya have real gold flake top coats coming in Oct/Nov

China Glaze Cracked Medallion and Wet N Wild Black

Hope everyone is having a good week. For today I have

Sinful Colors - Polar Opposites

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. So we have another brand jumping on the magnetic bandwagon. Sinful Colors. Today I have Polar Opposites which is a really cool dark silver magnetic with blue/purple duochrome micro glitter. You can't see the purple flash in the pics, but its there in real life and looks really cool. It looks like all of the Sinful magnetic have some micro glitter, although so far I've only gotten two of them. And one thing I can say about the Sinful magnetics is that the magnet is really nice and strong. Better than the magnets on some of the more expensive brands I have.

OPI - Black Cherry Chutney - This is from the India collection from several years ago. Its a dark burgundy with wine colored micro glitter. The application and coverage is really good.

China Glaze - Haute Metal - This is a pink metallic crackle.

Orly Flare, Orly Flicker and Orly Smolder

Hope all of those in the US had a good Labor Day, hope everyone else had a good Monday.

Even though its still summer, I have a bit of a fallish mani for today, and its to date my best attempt at a gradient.

Orly - Flare - This is from the new Fired Up Collection - This is a gold shimmer with tiny bits of green and pink micro glitter. This is a fairly sheer and required three coats which got a little bubbling by the end.

Orly - Flicker- This is also from the Fired Up Collection - This is rusty orange shimmer.

Orly - Smolder - Also from Fired Up - this is a dark red/wine shimmer.

Flicker and Smolder I applied with a sponge so really can't say much about application and coverage. Topped with Out The Door

Zoya Katherine and L.A. Girl Unihibited

Hope everyone is having a good hump day. Today I have a jelly sandwich.

Zoya - Katherine - This is a purple jelly from Zoya's new gloss collection. This polish has really good coverage especially for a jelly. Application is nice and smooth.

L.A. Girl- Unihibited - This is a black glitter in a clear base polish. This is one of the best glitter polishes I have for delivery of the glitter onto the nail. One of my favorite glitters.

Topped with Out The Door which I put on too thick and caused it bubble.

butter LONDON Gobsmacked and Wet N Wild Black Creme

Its been a week of nail fails but I finally have something decent.

butter LONDON - Gobsmacked - this is a silver micro glitter in a black base. I really like the application of this one, very smooth.

Wet N Wild - Black Creme - I've talked about this one so much I'll just say this is the best black polish in my opinion.

China Glaze - Haul

So my last few manis have been complete fails. So I thought I'd share a new collection I picked up today. The China Glaze Magnetix II collection. This collection has six new colors and a new horseshoe magnetic with three new designs, straight lines, spiral and grid designs I really like the new designs on the magnet and am looking forward to trying these out.

From left to right we have

Get Charged - This is a grayish purple
Con-Fused - This is a grassy green
Sparks Will Fly - This is a medium blue with purple shimmer
Gold Fusion - This is a gold
Bond-Tastic - This is a coppery orange
Positively - This is a raspberry

I just got these today and haven't tried any of them yet, but will post as soon as I do. I will also have a new mani coming up for you later tonight or tomorrow early.
