Orly Melt Your Popsicle and Nubar Black Polka Dots

Hope everyone has had a good weekend, mine was pretty productive. I was able to pick up all four of the new China Glaze Crackle Glitter polishes and I picked up three of the new Orly Feel the Vibe summer collection. Feel the Vibe is a collection of summer fun neons, except for one misfit Orly threw in, a black with pink & purple micro glimmer. Orly has been doing that lately, throwing in one color that doesn't go with the rest of the collection. I don't usually go in for neons but I really liked a couple from this collection so picked them up along with the black one, of course :)

So here is the orange neon from the Orly Feel the Vibe collection. Melt Your Popsicle. As is normal with neons, it does dry matte but I added the glitter and Over The Top topcoat. This polish has really good application and coverage, completely opaque in two coats.

I really like Black Polka Dots (gotta love black glitter) but the delivery of the glitter isn't great, it has to be patted on spot by spot, but its worth it.

Layla Mercury Twilight

I've been such a lazy slug, but I've got a new mani today.

Layla - Mercury Twilight. This is a silver holo. This is one really gives 61 a run for its money. In fact, I actually like this one better. It gave me a much better holo effect than 61

New Technique

I saw this technique on the China Glaze Facebook. It didn't turn out quite as I had hoped, but I guess its okay for a first try.

For the marbling I used China Glaze Liquid Leather and China Glaze Rainbow.

For the colors I used

OPI - Color So Hot It Burns
OPI - Atomic Orange
OPI - Need Sunglasses
OPI - Green-Wich Village
OPI - What's With the Catitude
OPI - Ogre The Top Blue
OPI - Planks A Lot

I really like this technique so I'll be working on perfecting it.

Orly - Mysterious Curse

Hope everyone is having a good week. Today I have one for you from the new Orly Dark Shadows collection.

Mysterious Curse - This is a dark purple/dark blue duochrome shimmer. Unfortunately the pics don't show this polish half as well as it looks in real life. It has a really cool shimmer duo effect.

Topped with Seche Vite

Layla Flash Black

This polish is totally awesome. I love it. It seems the problem I had with the first mani was not using a base coat as their direction suggested so be sure to use a basecoat These pics were taken without a topcoat, but when I tried it with a topcoat I stil got a nice holoo effect, just not quite as intense as without. Yep I love love love this polish.

Layla Holo Polishes

I don't who said that Friday the 13th is unlucky, today was totally my lucky day. I stopped by Sally's and picked up the Orly Dark Shadows Collections and then I stopped at Ulta and got 4 of the new Layla holo polishes.

Now I don't usually do this, but I've swatched here for you. I screwed up the mani, I went ahead and put Seche Vite over it on my nails and completely lost the holo effect. So as soon as I redo them, I'll post a full mani.

I really the holo effect on all of these polishes. I'm thinking about going back for the other 4 I didn't buy. These polishes are a bit pricey - $15.50 for 10ml as opposed to 15 ml for a regular sized bottle of polish, but they are totally worth it.

From left to right:

Ocean Rush - This is a really pretty medium blue holo

Ultra Violet - This is a sweet lavender holo

Mercury Twilight - This is a silver holo that gives 61 a run for its money

Flash Black - Great black holo

Finger Paints - Hipnotic - Pink Wednesday

I have a fun for Pink Wednesday. A few days ago I stopped by Sally's and was pleasantly surprised to find that Finger Paints has come out with a magnetic collection.

Finger Paints - Hipnotic - This is a raspberry polish. I really like the way the magnetic design turned out on this one, and its an awesome pink.

Sinful Colors - Pull Over and Fantasy Maker Creepy Pumpkin

Its been quite a while since I did a new mani. My oldest son moved out on his own and this past week I've been consumed with turning his old room into my nail polish room. Almost finished. I have to say the Zoya Tru mani really held up well, it was still looking pretty decent today. But anyway here is a new one

Sinful Colors - Pull Over - This is a bright sunshine yellow. Its kind of streaky but it eventually settled.

Fantasy Maker - Creepy Pumpkin - This is an orange littler jelly. Not bad on the application pretty normal for a jelly.

Happy Easter to all of those who celebrate.
