12-31-11 - Finger Paints Special Effects Flakies

My last mani of 2011. I've seen several people doing this one,so I thought I'd get on the bandwagon and do all of the colors together as well.

For the base I used Claw Polish Sinister - This is a really nice black creme with great shine even without a top coat. Not quite as nice as Wet N Wild Black, this one takes two coats, but its close.

The Finger Paint flakies are as follows:

Asylum - Pink & Blue Flakies
Motley - Blue & Green Flakies
Flecked - Green
Twisted - All of the colors
Flashy - Red flakies - this polish by itself is a dupe of 2010.

All topped with Seche Vite

I apologize if the pic is a little off, I got a new camera today and am still working on figuring out how to use it properly.

12-30-11 - Strange New Polish

I stopped by Walgreen's today and they had a display of new Sally Hansen shades. I picked up a really pretty light pink opalescent shimmer polish. The strange thing is that the name on the bottle and on the display was Hidden Treasure. This is nothing like Hidden Treasure, I don't know if Walgreen's got a bunch of mislabeled polishes or if Sally Hansen just re-used the name for a new polish. Whatever the story, its a pretty polish.


12/31 UPDATE: I posted on Sally Hansen's FB about this polish, and it is indeed a new shade called Hidden Treasure which is completely different than the original. Strange to have two polishes named the same thing, but there it is.

12-28-11 - Pink Wednesday Essie Its Genius and A Cut Above

Well I was able to squeeze a little bit pink into this last Wednesday of the year


Essie - Its Genius - This is a wine shimmer. Its a bit sheer but is good to go in two coats

Essie - Luxe Effect - A Cut Above - This is a pink glitter with both large & small pieces in a clear base. Its goes on pretty well, patting works the best for the delivery of the glitter.

12-27-11 - Glitter Gal Red Holo

Hope everyone had a good holiday. Today I have my last holiday mani.

Glitter Gal - Red Holo - What can I say about this polish, its red and its holo :) I've been wanting a red holo for a really long time. This goes on very nicely I used three coats for this one. It has a very nice linear holo that of course doesn't show up very well in picks. The only down side to this polish is it comes in a .3 fl bottle as opposed to the .5 fl of regular polishes. So I won't be using this one very often.

12-24-11 - Essie Fishnet Stockings, OPI Gold Shatter & Finger Paints Scenery Greenery

Happy Holidays to everyone. With lots of holiday prep going around here, I'll get right to it.

Essie - Fishnet Stockings - This is a dark red creme. Great application and coverage. This was a one coat polish for me.

Finger Paints - Scenery Greenery - This is a very nice medium green creme. I really like the shade of this one. Great application and coverage.

OPI - Gold Shatter - I'm really happy with the crackle effect on I got on this one.

Added some gold decals from Fingers

Topped all with Seche Vite

12-21-11 - China Glaze Blue Years Eve

My favorite decorating theme for Christmas has always been blue and silver. So in honor of that I went with blue and silver for today's mani.

China Glaze - Blue Year's Eve - This is a blue micro glitter polish with a purple shimmer/duo effect. This is a really pretty it has good application and coverage. I used three coats for this mani to get a nice medium blue.

China Glaze - Platinum Pieces - This is a silver metallic crackle polish with a nice crackle effect.

12-17-2011 - Stamps & Strips

So I have a couple of things going on for today's post Someone at work asked me about the Sally Hansen Nail Effects strips, so I went out and go the ones called Snow Bunny. They have a really cute design and looked nice but they started peeling within 10 minutes. Disappointment.




Then I got a new set of stamping plates on Amazon from Shany. They have some pretty cool designs, and quite a few different than the ones I have on my Bundle Monster plates, some the same.

For this one I used a base of Wet N Wild French White Creme, I like this white, its ready to go in two coats. Then I used Wet N Wild Red Red for the stamping and Shanty plate SH01. I'm still working on getting my placement right with the stamping so please excuse the crooked design. :)

12-15-11 - Nabi Crack Dark Green

So I had a chance to try out this new polish

Wet N. Wild - French White Creme - This is a nice white polish, opaque in two coats.

OPI - Red Shatter - This polish has a nice crackle effect, although it is starting to getting a little thick after just two usages, I think a little be of thinner will be in order the next time I use this.

Nabi Crack Dark Green - This is a much better green then the Mia Secret, although I was hoping for something a little darker, although its a perfect Christmas green. It has good crackle effect although I did go a little too thick in a few places. Overall, I'm very happy with this polish and will pick up a couple of other colors.

12-15-11 = Something New

I was at Walgreen's today and came across a brand of polish I've never seen or heard about before. Its called Nabi Crack and its all crackle polishes. Walgreens had a full display and there were a bunch of different colors, it was hard to tell how many because they were all mixed up, but it looked like there were at least 15-20 different colors. I only bought one to start with to see how it works. I got the dark green one, they don't have names just numbers 47-CNP60. I'm hoping to have a new mani for you later today using it, I'm hopeful it works better than the Mia Secret dark green I got which was a huge disappointment.

12/11/11 - China Glaze Glittering Garland & Orly Star Spangled

With just a couple more weeks until Christmas, today I have a simple mani of traditional Christmas colors.

China Glaze - Glittering Garland - This is a dark green micro glitter polish from the new holiday collection. This polish has nice coverage, I could have went with just one coat but I used to here just cuz.

Orly - Star Spangled - This is an older color from Orly. Its a pretty red micro glitter polish. Its a bit sheer, I used two coats but could have gone with three.

12-8-11 - Nubar White Polka Dots

I was actually able to try out one of my new Nubars and stick to the holiday them.

Orly - Enchanted Forest - This is a really pretty dark green creme. This is one of my favorite green polishes

Nubar - White Polka Dots - This is polish has large pieces of "white" hex glitter with little pieces of blue, green and silver glitter. Delivery of the small glitter was really good with the brush, the large pieces did require a bit of patting to go on, but the result is well worth it. Very sparkly and pretty.

12-7-11 - China Glaze Champagne Bubbles

I was watching Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer and got inspired for today's holiday mani

China Glaze - Platinum Silver - this is a very nice metallic silver with really good application and coverage, its a bit streaky but no more so than other metallics

China Glaze - Champagne Bubbles - This is a gold metallic polish with little bits of silver glitter from the new holiday collection. Its a little bit thin and watery but overall its a nice polish.

I just got Nubar Black Polka Dots and White Polka Dots, I'm not sure if I can wait until the end of the month to try them out, so I may be taking a quick break from the holiday manis to slide these in.

12-4-11 - China Glaze - Twinkle Lights

I love doing holidays, with all the glitter and sparklies but I hate taking it off :)


For today we have

Ghina Glaze - Four Leaf Cloves - This is a really nice grassy green creme. Great coverage and application

China Glaze - Twinkle Lights - This is a Red, Green & Silver glitter from the Let It Snow collection. I only used one coat here, pretty good application and glitter delivery.

12-1-11 - China Glaze - Love Marilyn

December 1st. Time to start getting ready for the holidays. I decided to go with holiday themed nails for the month, so each mani I do for the entire month of December will be holiday/winter themed.

First Up

China Glaze - Love Marilyn. This is a red and silver glitter polish from the new Eye Candy Collection. I like this polish, it really sparkly and fun. I only used one coat here and it really needed two.

China Glaze - Jolly Holly - This is a dark green shimmer from last year's holiday collection. This is an awesome polish. I love the color and had full coverage in one coat.

11-30-11 - OPI Ogre the Top Blue What's With the Catitude and Alpine Snow

So tomorrow is the 1st of December, its holiday time. I'm trying to decide if I should do the 12 Days of Christmas Manis like I did last year, or just do holiday themed manis for the entire month. I can't decide, but in the meantime, I have a fun mani for today

OPI - Alpine Snow - This is a white creme. It has good application and great coverage for a white polish. Smooth and opaque in two coats

OPI - What's with the Catitude - This is a light blue creme - This also had really good coverage and application.

OPI - Ogre the Top Blue - This is a medium blue creme - This is a great shade of blue with good coverage and application.

11-28-11 - OPI Grape...Set...Match

Its hard getting back to work after having four days off, so I just had to do a new mani.

OPI - Grape...Set...Match - This is a grapey polish with blue and purple micro glitter. The application and coverage on this one were very nice.l

I then topped it with OPI Blue Shatter - I'm not sure if I didn't wait long enough for the polish to dry or if I applied it too thick but I didn't get as good as a crackle effect on this one as I get with the colors from the Shatter collection. The color one this one is a great electric blue.

11-27-11 - Nubar Avant-Garde

The long weekend is coming to an end and I've been busy doing nail stuff. :)

I went with Nubar for this one, because at the risk of repeating myself, yeah I know I am, I love Nubar polish its my favorite of all of my polishes. Anyway to get to down to it,

Nubar - Avant-Garde - This is a burgundy shimmer matte polish. This is has really great coverage and application, although for this particular mani I used a top coat.

Nubar - 2010 - This is flaky topcoat. I love how this looks over the Avant-Garde giving a very autumny look.

11-25-11 - Zoya Cheryl

Hope everyone who celebrates had a good Thanksgiving. I have a bit of an autumny mani for today

Zoya - Cheryl - This a dark bronze shimmer with micro glitter. Very nice application and great coverage in two coats.

For the stamping I used

China Glaze - Iron Cross 360 - This is a burnt orange shimmer
OPI - Bling Dynasty - This is a dark gold shimmer
Nubar - Gold Feather - This is a goldish/bronzish shimmer

11-23-11 - Color Club Foil Me Once

So it Wednesday and that means Pink.

Color Club - Foil Me Once - This is a pink metallic. Very pretty with good application and coverage.

11-20-11 - Orly Rock It

I have a simple, nothing fancy mani for today.

Orly - Rock It - This is a ruby red polish from the Mineral FX Collection. The application was very nice and smooth. Good coverage. I used three coats here. The color of this polish is a very pretty deep red. The sparkle and shimmer is awesome which the pics don't do justice.

11-17-11 - Nubar Vaso & Hyacinth Sparkles

Its getting late and I'm getting tried so I'll get right to it.

Nubar - Vaso - this is a lavender shimmer with unique textured finish. Its not quite shiny and not quite matte. Very pretty from their Venetian Glass collection

Nubar - Hyacinth Sparkles - This is a lavender glitter polish. Very good application and coverage. I added it to the tips here for a little subtle sparkle

I know I've said it before, but I love Nubar its my favorite brand. I just wish it was more easily available.

11-16-11 - OPI Mermaid's Tears and Skull & Glossbones

Since the last time I posted I did a couple of total fail manis, so I'm glad to have a fairly decent for today. I'm still working on perfecting my stamping, but its coming along.

So today I was feeling a bit piraty and went with a couple of colors from OPI's POTC collection.

Skull & Glossbones - This is a light taupe creme. Nice coverage and application. It is a two coat polish.

Mermaid's Tear - This is a seafoam creme. I really love this color, its one of my favorites.

11-13-11 - China Glaze Tinsel Town & Concrete Catwalk

I have another mani for today.

China Glaze - Concrete Catwalk - This is a dark gray creme - Really good application and pretty much one coat application.

China Glaze - Tinsel Town - This is from the new holiday collection Let It Snow. This is a multi sized silver glitter in a a black base. I love the look of this polish. Its packed with glitter. I did one coat for this mani.

11-13-11 - Essie Its Genius & OPI Gold Shatter

On rainy dreary day what better to do than a new mani.

Essie - Its Genius - This is a wine shimmer with gold micro glitter. This has good application and great coverage in three coats.

OPI - Gold Shatter - This is a really good crackle.

11/10/11 -Essie Bangle Jangle & Zoya Neeka

For Today's Mani I went a little purpley

Essie - Bangle Jangle - This a lavender creme from the new winter collection Cocktail Bling. This polish is awesome. Very smooth application and the coverage is great with opaqueness in one coat. I love this polish.

Zoya - Neeka - This is a grapey purple shimmer with light purple and gold micro glitter. I love the color of this polish. Great application and coverage

I used the Neeka with Bundle Monster plate BM14 for the design.

All topped off with a couple of coats of Seche Vite.

11/9/11 - Pink Wednesday

Its Wednesday and its time for pink.

Finger Paints - Give Pink A Chance - This is a very dark pink creme, which looks kind of red in some light. It has great coverage and application.

China Glaze - Snow Globe - This is from the new holiday collection, Let It Snow. Its a hologram glitter in a white base polish. Very sparkly and pretty. Good delivery of glitter from the brush to the nail.

11-7-11 - Today's Mani

After several days of one headache after another, I finally feel up to doing a mani and it turns out crappy. Oh well.


Sinful Colors - Pull Over - This is a medium yellow creme. Good application and good coverage in three coats.

OPI - Navy Shatter - This along with the Pink are probably my favorites from the Shatter collection

Mia Secret - Dark Green Crackle - This is a total disappointment. Its thin and watery and no where near the dark green color it looks in the bottle. I've had the Mia Secret Black and White crackles and they were great. But this one is a huge disappointment.

11-2-11 - Pink Wednesday

Its Wednesday and on Wednesdays we wear pink, so I'll get right to it


Essie - Your Hut or Mine - This is a dark carnation pink shimmer. Good coverage and application, good to go in two coats

Phantom Fright - Moon and Stars glitter. This is a really old polish I got years ago. I just picked the stars out of the bottle and placed on my nails.

China Glaze - Fairy Dust - I think we all know how awesome this polish is :)

11-1-11 - Today's Mani

For the first day of November I have an icy mani.

Color Club - Cold Metal - This is a sapphire blue metallic polish. Great coverage and application. Its good to go in one coat

OPI - Silver Shatter - What can I say about this one, a silver metallic crackle. I got good crackle effect on this one.

10-31-11 - Today's Hallomani

Happy Halloween everyone. I'm kind of disappointed with my final Halloween mani but it is what it is.

I started with water marbling using OPI Atomic Orange, OPI Funky Dunkey and Wet N Wild Black Creme and topped it off with some stamping using Bundle Monster plate BM225 with Konad stamping polish in white.

10-27-11 - Today's Hallowmani

I went with a little stamping for today's mani


Nubar - Black Chrome - This is a black shimmer matte. It has good coverage in two coats. I used OPI Rapid Dry top coat on it for this mani

10-26-11 - Pink Wednesday

Its finally starting too cool down, finally, I hope it stays this way now, and not go right back to 100 next week. Anyway now down to the serious business, nails :)

China Glaze - Nasty - This is a raspberryish pink with alot of purple to it. Nice coverage and application.

China Glaze - Haunting. This is a black with silver glitter from this year's Halloween collection. This goes on very nice and is a two coat polish. It has tons of glitter. I'm really liking it.

The added some skull stickers for fun.

10-25-11 - Today's Hallomani

Today I have a dripping slime mani

China Glaze - Electric Pineapple - This is a neon green polish. Nice application and coverage

China Glaze - Zombie Zest - This is a slimey green glitter from last year's Halloween collection. Its bit jelly like and the removal is very easy.

10-22-11 = Today's Hallomani

So for today I thought I'd do a little stamping for my Hallomani

Essie - Vermillionaire - This is a dark orange cream. Its a little streaky and thin but was good to go in three coats and the color is great

10-20-11 - Today's Hallomani

I tried my hand using nail art paint for this mani. I'm slowly but surely getting the hang of it.

OPI - Skull & Glossbones - This is a taupey gray creme I used as the base. This polish has great coverage and application

Sinful Colors Nail Art Paint in Orange Alert

And I added a little spider sticker

10-19-11 - Pink Wednesday

I have two Pink Wednesday manis for you today. One Hallowmani and one not. So we'll start with the non-Hallowmani.

In addition to October being the month of Halloween, it is also breast cancer awareness month. This mani is a reminder to all of the ladies to be sure to do your self exam every month and if your over 40 get your mammogram once a year. So now onto the mani.

OPI - Concrete Catwalk - This is a dark gray creme. This polish has great application and coverage, its a one coat polish.

Then I topped it off with a little pink ribbon using a Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in Light Pink.




Today's Hallomani is OPI DS Opulence. This is an awesome medium pink with lots of scattered holo glitter. I love this polish. And I added a little ghost sticker for a bit of scariness :)

10-15-11 = Today's Hallomani

Well it sure isn't feeling much like Fall or Halloween around here, with it still being 100 degrees around here, but for today's Hallowmani I have

Orly - Orange Punch - This a a bright almost neon orange. Good coverage and application. This polish dries matte but for this mani I used Seche Vite topcoat

Orly - Goth - This is a black polish with silver micro glitter. It has good coverage and application, it has so-so glitter delivery.

The I added a little bat sticker

10-13-11 = Today's Hallomani

For today's Hallomani we have

OPI - Got the Blues for Red - This is a blood blood red polish. Great coverage and application, I love this color, I'm thinking its my new favorite red. I added a subtle little black widow sticker just for fun.
