5-31-11 - New Goodies

Even though I have not heard anything good about these, when I saw this one on the shelf at Walgreens this morning, I just had to get it and try it out for myself.

Sally Hansen - Antiqued Gold - Gold crackle polish.

5-30-11 - Today's Mani

Since I'm trying to get through all of my untried polishes, I have another new mani today.

OPI - Skull & Glossbones. This is a light taupe creme. Good coverage and opaque in two coats. I don't normally go in for neutrals, but I really like this one.

OPI - Stranger Tides - This is a light sage green cream. Great application and coverage, this a great subtle color.

5-29-11 - Today's Mani & New Goodies

So the quest was successful. Today I was able to find OPI Blue Shatter, Turquoise Shatter and White Shatter. Plus I picked up the rest of the POTC Collection that I still needed, Steady and She Rose and Skull & Gloss Bones

OPI - Steady As She Rose - This is a light dusty pink creme

OPI - Turquoise Shatter - The picture shows this polish bluer than it actually is. This is a turquoise shimmer shatter polish which is more on the green side than the pic shows

OPI - White Shatter - This is a straight forward which creme shatter polish

OPI - Blue Shatter - This is a sapphire blue shimmer shatter polish

OPI - Skull & Gloss Bones - This is a light taupe creme

OPI - Navy Shatter - This is a navy creme shatter.

5-28-11 - Today's Mani

I received a request today for a patriotic Memorial Day mani. So this one is for Cheri and for all of the men and women who gave their lives in service to their country. Thank you for your sacrifice.

The polishes I used for this one are

OPI - Alpine Snow - This is a good white, opaque in two coats with good applications

OPI - Perfectly Red - This is a Beauty Brands exclusive polish. Its a very true red, I really like it.

Orly - La Playa - This is an awesome navy blue creme. This is one of my favorite polishes.

All topped off with Northern Lights top coat for a little sparkle

5-25-11 - Pink Wednesday

For today's pink mani I did a little water marbling.

OPI - Hoo Doo Voo Doo?! - This is a dark magenta polish. Its a re-release of a retired color. It worked really well for marbling and I'm really looking forward to using it for a regular mani to get a true sense of it.

OPI - Suzi Skis the Pyrenees - This is a dark gunmetal creme. Its one of my favorite polishes to go to when I something not quite black. It also worked well for marbling.

5-22-11 - New Mani

So today I used my new P59 stamping place. I didn't notice it in the package but this plate is about 50% bigger than the other brands of plates. Not sure why. I had a really hard time today getting the image to transfer onto the stamper. Not sure if the problem was the plate, the polish or just me having a bad day. But I finally got it working, kind of, after a lot of trying and making a complete mess of my mani.

The base is Wet N Wild Black Creme - I know I've mentioned before that this is my favorite black polish. Its a one coat polish and is super super shiny.

For the stamping I finally ended up using Ulta Snow White after trying several other whites.

Its not great but it is what it is and I love the skull & crossbones(swords) design.

5-21-11 - New Goodies

Got a couple of new goodies today.

First in the mail arrived a stamping plate I ordered off ebay from BeautifulScratchers. Its numbered P59 and is a Halloween design plate, except for a kitty paws design and a swirly design. Not sure how they ended up on a Halloween plate but it was the kitty paws that originally led me to the plate and I was so psyched when I saw the skulls and crossbones(swords) So I'm super excited about trying this plate out.

And then I picked up a couple of polishes at Beauty First

Zoya - Dove - This is a light gray creme

OPI - Light My Sapphire - This is a super dark purple shimmer.

5-20-11 - Today's Mani

Today I have a polish that I've had for a few months but haven't had the chance to use. I have so many polishes that I need to use, that I'm trying to get to them as quickly as I can.

Nubar - Purple Beach. This is a purple/green duochrome. This seems to a very common combo for duochromes I have several brands of purple/green duo. Anyway, this one has a great formula and the application is very smooth. I know I've said it before but Nubar is one of, if not my most favorite brand.

5-18-11 - Pink Wednesday Mani

Its Wednesday and time for a pink a mani. So let's get right to it.

Sally Hansen Instra-Dri - Pink Blink - Can you say cotton candy. Cuz we have some right here. This is a nice cotton candy pink. Sally Hansen has this new thick wide brush, that I find kind of awkward to use, but its a pretty polish, the formula isn't great, its a bit streaky but turns out okay in the end with two or three coats.

Sally Hansen Instra-Dri - Snappy Sprinkles - This is a pink and irridescent green confetti glitter polish. I the actual glitter in this, but the delivery onto the nails is really difficult and one application used up almost 1/4 of the bottle.

In the end I do like both polishes, but they both have definite down sides.

5-15-11 - Today's Mani and New Goodie

So I have alot going on today: a new mani, a new polish and Kats Klaw Polish is now on Facebook. So check out the link on the sidebar and if you would be so kind, throw us a "like" over there and I'll do the same.

On to the mani. I got a suggestion for mani yesterday so this one is for Georgann to brighten her day.

OPI - Need Sunglasses - This is a bright sunny yellow. Although its a bright color, its a sheer polish and takes three coats to be opaque. Yellow isn't a color I usually wear, but I really like this one. I've had it for a few years but don't use it very often.

Then I added a little stamping to it. Bundle Monster plate BM01 and I used OPI Atomic Orange. Atomic Orange worked really well for stamping.

And for once, I'm doing my mani during the daytime, so I have some outside pics.

I forgot to take one with the stamping inside.

Anyway, on to the new polish

I've been looking for this polish for awhile and finally found it at Target.

Essie - Dive Bar - This is a dark bluish teal shimmer with purple & blue micro glitter. I haven't had a chance to swatch yet though.

OPI - Gargantuan Green Grape - This is a light green

OPI - Hoo Doo Voo Doo?! - This is a magentay dark pink. This is also a re-release of a retired color

5-13-11 - New Goodies

I was out running around today and came home with some new goodies

A trip this morning to Walgreen's netted these cute little Revlon Minis

Butterfly - This is a bright orange creme. My first car was this color, gotta love it. The pics on this one turned out weird. The swatch pic is lighter and not as bright as it is in real life. The pic in the package is a more true representation of the color.

Moss - This is an olive green creme. I'm thinking camo mani

Tulip - This is a super bright pink. Gotta stock up on the pink for Wednesdays :)

Then it was off to Sally's. Sally sent out a coupon to Beauty Club members for a free China Glaze polish with a $10 purchase, so I scored a free CG

Finger Paints - Peaceful Purple - This is a purple glitter

Finger Paints - Pink Imagination - This is a Susan G. Komen limited edition color

China Glaze - Blue Iguana from the new Island Escape collection - This is an electric blue shimmer

5-13-11 - Today's Mani

Happy Friday the 13th. So its supposed to be 102 here today, so I thought a nice cool & icy mani would be in order.

Zoya Crystal - This is an icy blue/silver micro glitter polish. It has a great formula, goes on smoothly and its completely opaque in 2 coats. The picture does not do this polish justice at all. It is equally blue & silver and not as dark as in the pic. And in the sun it is super super sparkly.

5-11-11 - Today Mani

Its Wednesday, you know that means PINK!!!!! I have to say that I have developed a new appreciation for pink nail polish. I wasn't too much into before, but I'm definitely starting to dig it. I think it goes back to when I was a little girl and my whole room was painted pink. Medium pink walls with dark pink trim. I lived in that room for 5 or 6 years, that's a lot of pink. Any way enough of that, time to get to today's mani.

OPI - Sparrow Me The Drama - This is a carnation pink creme. It has really good application. It goes on very smooth and is good to go in two coats, of course I used three.

Then for fun I added a little stamping art. I used Bundle Monster Plate BM225 with Konad stamping polish in black.

5-8-2011 - Today's Mani

Of course I can't get a new shatter polish with trying it out right away. :)

OPI - Black Onyx - This is a black polish I've reviewed previously.

OPI - Red Shatter - I thought this was going to be a bright fire engine red. Turns out that its a darker blood red. I'm really loving this polish.

5-7-11 - Today's Mani

I finally got a nail stamp work, yeaaa. Its just a little one, but its progress :)

Nubar - Absolute - This is a light blue scattered holo. Its pretty sheer but I achieved good coverage in 3 coats. I like this Color alot.

For the stamping I used Essie Aruba Blue

I used my free Born Pretty Hello Kitty stamp number M71.

I took the picture of the stamping indoors with a flash so it would show up better. If I have a chance tomorrow I'll try to get pic outside in the sunlight.

5-7-11 - New Goodie

The last polish from the Zoya Earth Day order arrived today:

Savita - This is medium purple shimmer with a matte finish. I'm looking forward to trying this one out. Note: I did have to adjust the color because again my camera made it look way too blue. I think I need to go camera shopping, this is really irritating me. But any way, here is Savita.

5-6-11 - Today's Mani

I still have a ton of new polish I need to use so here is another new mani.

OPI - Mermaid's Tears - This is a seafoam green creme. It has very nice application. Opaque in 2 coats, I did three for this mani just for the extra oomph.

My set of the new BM plates arrived today. I did try them out, but the result was so bad its not even funny. But I'll keep working on it.

5-5-11 - Today's Mani

So I have a ton of new polishes that I need to get to you, so I'll be doing new manis more often than usual. Today's came out a little more Halloweeny than I planned but here it is.

China Glaze- Papaya Punch - this is a yellowy/orange cream. It went on fairly well, a little thin, but two coats did the trick. I then added Black Mesh Crackle. Topped it off with Seche

Profile Pics

This is going around FB, so I thought it would be cool to do it here too.

In honor of Mother's Day I'm trying to see how many of you are willing to change your profile picture to a picture of your mother and keep it there till May 9. I did. If you will, please repost this on your blog so everyone gets the word and see how many beautiful mothers we can get on blogger.com

5-4-11 - New Goodies

I stopped by Sally's on my way home tonight. I picked up a couple of China Glaze from the new Island Escape Collection and I got a couple of Orly on clearance for only $2 bucks.

China Glaze - Senorita Bonita - This is a medium purple shimmer with micro glitter

China Glaze - Papaya Punch - I'm not sure how to describe this color, I'd say a yellow/orange that looks kind of neon but really isn't creme.

Orly - Sapphire Silk - This is a slate blue creme

Orly - Royal Velvet - This is a dark purple/duochrome
