2-28-11 - Today's Haul

So I was out and about today and picked up a few new goodies

Milani Gems - I kind of been staying away from glitters lately mainly because they are so hard to get off, but when I saw this one this morning at Walgreens I was whoa that is sparkly.

China Glaze - Rich & Famous - I know what you're all thinking "hey she's not that much into pink" and that is true, but this is a match for the Broken Hearted crackle and For Audrey is a match for Crushed Candy, I think we all know where this line of thinking is going. :)

OPI What's with the Catitude and Rumple's Wiggin - these two don't really count, I mean they are new goodies, but they're replacements for the minis of these colors that I've used all up and I wanted to make sure I got them before the Shrek Collection goes as away, so they don't count toward the polish total :)

And I picked up a new hair clip while I was at Ulta.

And yes, that is Orion hiding behind everything.

2-27-11 - Today's Mani

Kind of a lazy day today just worked on a new mani


China Glaze - Below Deck from the Anchors Away Collection. I really like this color its a great muted mauve that has great coverage and opaqueness.

Then I topped it with Cracked Concrete crackle polish. This was a mistake on my part. These two do not go well together, there is not enough contrast between them for a good crackle look. Oh well, now I have an excuse for a new mani tomorrow. :)

Also, thought I'd throw in a pic of my Lynx Point Siamese cat, Orion.

2-25-11 - Today's Mani

So already I've been playing with my new goodies.

China Glaze - Liquid Leather - this isn't my favorite black, its a little too sheer for my taste and takes at least 3 coats to be opaque, but for this mani, it works.

China Glaze - Broken Hearted - This is the pink crackle - I know I've said before I'm not big into pink but this is a fun one.

China Glaze - Crushed Candy - a nice springy mint green crackle.

These crackles worked very well, although I went a little too thick in a couple of places, over all I really them.

2-25-11 - Today's Haul

I went by Sally's today and picked up the rest of the crackle collection.

Broken Hearted - a carnation pink

Crushed Candy - this looks very much like For Audrey

Black Mesh - now I have 3 different brands of black crackle, I'm going to have to get around to doing a comparison

Lightning Bolt - white - I'm hoping this one works better than the other white crackle I have.

2-23-11 - Today's Mani

I woke up with a migraine today and not feeling very well most of the day. Luckily I'm feeling better tonight, at least well enough to do a simple mani.

Zoya - Adina - This is a pretty lavender greenish/goldish duocrhome. It went on really smoothly and is opaque in two coats. I really like this one. I just wish the camera could catch the duochrome effect better.

2-21-11 - Today's Mani

As I mentioned earlier I got a couple of new things today, and so for today's mani I tried to match what I'm going to wear tomorrow. Its not a great match, but ehh.


OPI - Yodel Me On My Cell - This is a blue/green shimmer from the Swiss collection which is a little more on the blue side. It went on great, very smooth and was opaque in two coats

OPI - Cuckoo for This Color - This is a blue/green shimmer from the Swiss collection which is a little more on the green side. Also a smooth, great application.

OPI - Black Onyx. This is a very nice opaque black.

Even though the sweater has quite a bit of white in it, I didn't think white would work well with the mani, so I left it out.

2-21-11 - New Goodie

So I had to go out to Scottsdale today, and as it just happens, the only store in the whole area that carries Zoya is in Scottsdale and right on the way to where I was going. So I stopped by but I only found one that caught my interest.

Zoya - Adina - This is a lavender and kind of a greenish/yellowish/goldish duochrome. I'm really looking forward to using because just by coincidence while I was out clothes shopping I picked up a sweater that matches Adina, I didn't even realize it until I got home.

2-19-11 - Today's Mani

So I decided to get a little funky. Its been raining all day giving me time to do a kind of long mani, so here it.

Marbling with the entire OPI Shrek Collection:

Who The Shrek are You - a bright neon green
Fiercely Fiona - neon yellow
Rumple's Wiggin - A light pastel purple
What with the Catitude - a light pastel blue
Ogre the Top Blue - bright blue
Funky Dunkey - a medium purple

This is the first time I've used some these colors, but this is a great collection. I love them.

And then topped off with Black Shatter.

Please excuse the messiness, I didn't do a very good clean up job. This was a fun mani to do.

2-17-11 - Today's Mani

I don't think I've mentioned it here before, but my younger son is in a death metal band. Tomorrow night they are doing a show at a local club and since I go to all of the shows, today's mani is what I call my Vivicide nails.

Wet N Wild - Black Creme - I know I've said it before but this is my absolute favorite black, completely opaque and super shiny in one coat

Mia Secret White Crackle - I still haven't decided if I like this one or not, it seems kind of thin and mixes with the underneath color too much, but maybe I'm just not doing a thick enough coat, we'll see.

Ulta - Snow White - This is a great white polish even when worn alone. Only two coats for full coverage and complete opaqueness.

Mia Secret Black Crackle - This is my first crackle polish and I really like it.

2-15-11 - Today's Mani

So I couldn't wait to try out my new crackle polishes, so for today we have

China Glaze Fault Line over China Glaze Awaken. Awaken is a great gun metal gray shimmer. I'm totally loving Fault Line, the purple is awesome and I like the shimmer.

3-15-11 - More New Goodies

I don't even know how it happened. All I did was go out for cat food and somehow I ended up at Sally's with nail polish in my hand. I truly am an addict.

China Glaze - Awakening - This is a Rose/Gold duochrome which doesn't really show up well in the pic.

China Glaze - Lemon Fizz - I have absolutely no idea what possessed me to get this polish. I don't like pastels and I don't like yellow. But this one just seemed to be calling to me. I picked it up and put it down at least three times.

2-15-11 - New Haul

I picked up some new things

Sinful Colors - Aqua - This is a turquoise shimmer and #298

China Glaze - Cracked Concrete crackle polish - this is a gray crackle and #299

China Glaze - Fault Line crackle polish - this is a purple shimmer crackle, I've never seen a shimmer crackle before this is going to be interesting and drum roll please, its my 300th bottle of polish

2-13-11 - Today's Mani

I'm having a bit of trouble typing, so please excuse any typos. So for today we have

OPI - Its Totally Fort Worth It. This is a gray/silver shimmer with purple micro glitter. This went on really great. Two coats and its totally opaque and it covered very smoothly.

Then I topped it off with some Black Shatter

2-12-11 - New Haul

I went to Ulta today and picked up a few goodies

China Glaze - From the new Anchors Away collection - Below Deck - This is a muted mauve which is very similar to the discontinued Channelesque

China Glaze - This is an older polish from the 2009 Romantiques Collections, which makes me very surprised that I found it at Ulta. This is a metallic purple.

OPI - From the new Texas Collection - Its Totally Fort Worth It - This is a gray/silver shimmer with light purple micro glitter.

These three bring me to a total of 297 polishes, only three more to go until I get to 300 and I have two coming in the mail :)

I'm not sure when I'll have a new mani, I took a bit of a tumble and messed up my wrist and am in a wrist brace right now, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to do my nails with it on, but I'm really looking forward to trying out all of these polishes as soon as possible. :)

2-11-11 - Today's Mani

So this has been a really bad manicure week for me. Over the last few day I've done some manis that are so bad I can't even post them. Today we have one that not too bad though


China Glaze - the unknown pink I bought a week or so ago. I wish I'd notice that it didn't have a label on the bottom before I bought it, because I would have it, anyway it okay pink (I'm not big into pink) a medium carnation color with a slight shimmer

Mia Secret - White Crackle - The jury is still out on this one, I'm not sure if I like it, it just doesn't seem to work as well as the black.

I'm excited that I just bought the China Glaze purple and gray crackle polishes from ebay so hopefully I have some good mani going on by the end of next week :)

2-8-11 - Today's Mani

So today I felt like a little sparkliness :)

OPI - Take the Stage - This is a bright rust shimmer, not a color I would normally choose, but I really like it.

OPI - Extra-Va-Vaganza - this is a multi colored glitter with an emphasis on orange. And its very sparkly. I love sparkly.

Both of these are from the Burlesque Collection and they go on very nicely, great coverage in two coats.

2-7-11 - Today's Mani and New Goodie

So I finally got a half decent design from the plates.

I used yesterday mani of Rockin Rockette and added Essie Shift Power with Bundle Monster plate BM21.

Then while I was out and about I picked up Revlon - Midnight Affair - a dark blue polish with light blue micro glitter. Its similar to other polishes I have but I'm a softie for dark blue shimmers. :)

2-6-11 - Another New Mani for Today

So I disliked the previous mani so much that I re-did it.

Orly - Rockin Rockette - This is a very pretty cognac colored shimmer. Went on nicely in two coats. I'm finding that its really hit & miss for me with Orly, Some of them, like this one, I really like and they go really nice, and others are just awful. But anyway this one is a winner.

2-6-11 - Today's Mani

Well today's mani is totally outside of my normal style and I'm thinking pretty much a fail.

OPI - Rumple's Wiggin - This is a very light pastel lavender from the Shrek collection

Mia Secret - White Crackle - I think this polish has great potential but I think it was a mistake to use with such a light polish underneath.

I guess I need to stick to my normal style of dark polishes :)

2-5-11 - New Goodies

My Monster Bundle plates arrived today woooo hooo, I can't wait to start playing. 21 plates for 18.00 what a deal.

China Glaze - Rose Among Thorns (Neon) - this is a hot pink neon, I think it will look good with a crackle polish.

2-3-2011 - Today's Mani

So we have this superbowl thing going on at work. The girl who sits on one side of me is a Packers fan and the girl on the other side is a Steelers fan. I'm neutral I don't care either way, but I'm in the middle of these twos. So everyone in our area is doing superbowl nails, so since I'm in the middle I have one hand for the Packers and one hand for the Steelers.



Right Hand - Steelers - Essie - Shift Power - my favorite gold polish. OPI Black Shatter.

Left Hand - Packers - Finger Paints - Scenery Greenery. I love this green, its one of my favorite. Goes on great. Nina Ultra Pro - Like Butta - This is actually not too bad although it took like four coats to be opaque.

2-3-2011 - New Haul

I picked up a few new things today

Mia Secret - White Crackle - I'm very excited this arrived today, I can't wait to try it out.

Then on my way home from work I dropped by Sally's and picked a few things

China Glaze - Ravishing, Dahling - this is a burgundy cream

China Glaze - I don't know what this one is called, I didn't realize until I got home that there is no label on the bottom, so I'm trying to find out its name. Its a dark, kind of carnation pink. I don't normally go for this sedate of a color but I thought it would look good with the white crackle.

Nina Ultra Pro - Like Butta - This is a school bus yellow. I've never used this brand before but, we've got this whole super bowl thing going on at work and I needed a polish for the Packers and this was the closest I could find.

So with these four new beauties I'm up to 292 polishes. 8 more until I reach 300. I wonder how long it will take me

2-3-11 - Today's Mani

So for today's mani we have

Milani - Hi Res - This is a light purple holo. It has a pretty nice holo effect, not as good as some I have but not terrible.

2-1-11 - Today's Mani

So today's mani is another polish I bought a few months ago and never got around to trying.

Zoya - Indigo - This is a midnight blue polish with multi colored micro glitter. This went on great, completely opaque in one coat. The only problem I have with it is that very little glitter actually got on the nail.
