3-30-11 - OPI Who The Shrek Are You

So I was feeling kind of funky today and went a little wild on the nails


OPI - Who The Shrek Are You - This is a neon slime green polish. It achieves perfect sliminess in three coats

Then a v gap design with OPI Black Shatter. I still need alot of practice with the v gap but it was kind of weird doing with the shatter polish

Then I went completely over the top and added a kitty water slide decal.

I was in a mood today what can I say :)

3-29-11 - Today's Mani

I was hard to decide which new Zoya to use first, but I went with


Faye - This polish is totally awesome. I can't believe how the gold glitters and shimmers. I am loving it. This polish is great by itself and I think it will also work great layered with something else. Love love love ;)

And with the four polishes I got today, my new polish rack is now full. :(

3-29-11 - New Goodies

The best days are the days when boxes arrive with little bottles inside. :)

My Zoya order arrived today. Lots of fun stuff

Zara - This is a light purple/gold duochrome although I didn't get alot of duo effect on the swatch. Still I like it.

Apple - A bright green micro glitter with little flecks of yellow. I'm really liking this one.

Kotori - This one was not what I thought it was going to be. From the pics online I thought it was going to be a blue/greenish duochrome. Its actually a black gel base with blue/green/purple micro glitter. Its cool I'm digging it.

Faye - This is a rose color with gold super shimmer micro glitter. Its a little lighter than I expected but its very cool. This is the one I was most looking forward to and I'm not disappointed.

3/27/11 - Today's Mani

I had a pretty lazy day today, so I thought a polish change was in order.


Wet N Wild - Black Creme - not much else for me to say about this polish, I love it, its my favorite black.

Zoya - Sarah. This is a red micro glitter polish that very much reminds me of Ruby Pumps. Its got great application, it went over the black with no problem in two coats. I'm definitely loving this polish.

3-25-11 - Today's Mani - Nubar Black Chrome

So I thought I'd spice up yesterday's mani a little. I saw this design on the Sally's Beauty Supply blog. They call it a v-gap design. On the blog they used one color with bare nails in the gap. For the most part I like to use at least two colors, (which is why I love funky french so much), so I used Nubar Black Chrome on top of yesterday's Nubar Gold Feather. This is my first time trying this design and I need a lot more practice, but I like it.

3-24-11 - Today's Mani

Well I made of mess of my nails at work today, so I had to do a whole new mani.


Nubar - Gold Feather - This is a goldish bronze shimmer. Very pretty with good application. Opaque in two coats. The only disappointment is that was supposedly a duochrome but I didn't any duochrome effect from it.

UPDATE: This morning in the sun, I did get a slight duochrome effect. It flashes from the darker bronze to a shiny gold. Very pretty but very slight.

3-23-11 - Today's Mani

DS Original - The linear holo effect of this polish is awesome. I'm totally loving this one.

I had a nice treasure in the mailbox today.

OPI - DS Original - This is a purple holo with a great linear effect. So I'm off to try it out. :)

3-21-11 - Today's Mani

So on bleak rainy first day of spring, I decided go with a little sparkle for today's mani. I just wish the pics could show off the sparkle they it desires to be showed off.

China Glaze - Sexy In The City - This is a teal shimmer, it has great application, very smooth and was opaque in 2 coats but I went with 3 just for fun. It is very shimmery

China Glaze - Atlantis - I love this glitter polish, its so sparkley, unfortunately the pic doesn't do it justice.

3-20-11 - New Haul & Stuff

Well today I have some good stuff to talk about and some not so good stuff to talk about.

First the good stuff --

I was finally able to come up with a rack to hold all of my polishes with a little extra room for expansion :) While putting everything up I did discover that I've lost a polish somewhere along the way. I didn't really like it, it was one of those color changing ones that didn't work. I'm sure it will turn up eventually but its out of the count for now :)


Also a couple of new polishes. Also I'm going to start doing my haul picture a little different -- putting the swatch wheel up to the polish when I take the pic -- let me know if you guys don't like it and I'll go back to doing it the old way

Essie - Sexy Divide - this is a dark purple shimmer

China Glaze - Sexy In The City - This is a teal shimmer


Now for the not so good stuff -

Watermarking - I've never wanted or felt the need to watermark my photos until now. It would seem that someone is posting some of my pics as their own. I actually had somebody try to tell me that one of my pics wasn't mine, so from now on all of my pictures will be watermarked. I apologize for it interfering with the image. I'm probably going to be messing around with different marks until I find one I can live with. I'm very sad that I have to do this.

Nubar - Purple Beach - this is a purple/greyish green duochrome

Nubar - Gold Feather - this is a warm bronzish gold shimmer.

For today's mani we have

China Glaze - Platinum Silver - this is a silver metallic. Very nice smooth coverage, opaque in two coats.

China Glaze - Fault Line - purple crackle polish, I love the color of this polish

China Glaze - Black Mesh - black crackle polish, this has a really good crackle effect.

3-16-11 - St. Patty's Mani

Well I've been having a serious creative block the last few days and add to that a migraine tonight and I came up with a serious fail for a St. Patty's mani. :(

Essie - Pretty Edgy - This is a beautiful grass green polish. Its one of my favorite greens

China Glaze - Lightning Bolt - The white China Glaze crackle. This is my first time using this, and it works pretty good. I think I like it better than the white Mia Secret.

3-15-11 - New Haul & Stuff

So while I was today picked up a couple of new bottles


China Glaze - Hologram - this is the silver one from the Tronica Collection.

China Glaze - Silver Platinum - this is a silver metallic

and I have an order in for a couple of Nubars.




I decided to make a rack for my polishes, I made the biggest one I could with what I had and I was only able to make it big enough to hold my OPIs, China Glazes and Zoyas, which are less than half of my total polishes. So I'm going to have to try something else.

3-12-11 - Today's Mani

Of course I had to use one of my new Zoyas. For the first one, I chose Suvi.

This is a great blackened green shimmer. This may be my new favorite polish I love this color. The application was pretty good. The first coat was streaky and thin but the second coat went on smoothly with great coverage and complete opaqueness

3-12-2011 - New Goodies

My Zoya Going Green trio arrived today. Yaaaa. There was a small mistake and I got Envy instead of Shawn, but its all good, Envy is cool ... they are all cool.

Ivanka - This is a grassy green glitter.

Envy - This is a dark olive green, it will work great in a camo mani

Suvi - Looking at the bottle I thought this was just a dark green polish- but its actually a blackened green shimmer, it is so cool looking, I can't wait to use it.

3-10-11 - Today's Mani

So I was in the mood for a little stamping tonight, and came up with

OPI - Off With Her Red - This is a nice fire engine red. Great application and coverage. Opaque in two coats.

Stamped with Bundle Monster plate BM18 ad Konad black stamping polish.

3-9-11 - Today's Mani

I couldn't decide what do for a mani, so my son Derek picked today's.

China Glaze - Hi Def - a pretty blue from the Tronica collection
China Glaze - 3D Fantasy - a nice red also from the Tronica collection. I've been looking for a red holo for awhile, so I will have to do regular mani with this one to get a good feel for its holo effect.

Topped with Northern Lights top coat

This was a new application technique for me, I applied both colors with a make up sponge. I think the results are kind of interesting, although the applicaton doesn't do justice to the holo effect of either polish.

3-6-11 - New Haul

I went by Sally's today and they finally have Tronica. And I went by Ulta with my reward certificate, ah what's better than a free bottle of nail polish.

China Glaze - Peachy Keen - yeah I know another pastel, I have some ideas for all of these pastels I've been getting. This is a nice light orange.

3-5-11 - Today's Mani

Today was such a nice warm springy day, that I had to do a nice springy mani.

Nubar - Reclaim - this is one of my most favorite holos. Its a great shade of grassy green. The holo effect is awesome and it goes on so easy and smooth. I love Nubar and this is one of their best polishes.

The base color is What's With the Catitude and the kitties are starting with the pinky

3-5-11 - Polish Comparison

Today I'm comparing 3 different brands of crackle polish.

The base color I'm using is OPI What's With the Catitude.

I have not used any top coat at all.


Ring Finger - China Glaze Black Mesh

Middle - Mia Secret Black Crackle

Index - OPI Black Shatter

The only real difference I see with these is that the Mia Secret is a matte black while the OPI and China Glaze are both a shinier deeper black. A difference I don't think would be noticeable at all once a top coat is applied.

So bottom line for me, I love all three of them.

3-2-11 - Today's Mani and New Goodies

I'm still trying to get caught up on using the polishes I've bought over the last few months. So for today we have

China Glaze - Harmony - This is an amethyst shimmer which I absolutely love. Opaque in two coats. I have to say again I love this shade of purple, its definitely one of my favorite purples.

Essie - Over the Top - This is a charcoal shimmer with multi super micro glitter. This is a great polish I love the color and it goes on very nicely.




I stopped by Target earlier to get some cat food and got a new polish.

Sally Hansen - Boca Mocha - this is a nice reddish brown.
