7-1-11 - Today's Mani and New Goodies

Today is casual day at work, so I did my mani to match the holiday shirt I'm going to wear today. But this is not my 4th of July mani. I'll be working on that over the weekend.

OPI - Off With Her Red. - This is a nice darkish red. Its got good application and coverage.

The stickers are Fingers holiday stickers.

I did this mani in a rush so sorry about the messiness.







And I went shopping last night a picked up a few goodies.

Zoya - Pippa - This is a bright yellow creme

Zoya - Paz - This is a bright orange creme

Zoya - Ali - This is a bright pink creme

Finger Paints - Give Pink A Chance - This is a dark pink creme,

Finger Paints - Psychedelic Sunshine - This is a yellow glitter jelly

Finger Paints - Groovy Green - This is a lime green shimmer

I definitely have some summer manis in mind with these colors. Stay tuned ;)

6-29-11 - Pink Wednesday

Its Wednesday time for some pink. For today I have gone with Pink with Purple Polka Dots :)

China Glaze - Rich & Famous - This is a medium pink. Application was a little weird on this one. But the result was a nice color and super shiny on its own.

China Glaze - Spontaneous - This is a medium purple. Since I only used it for the dots its kind of hard to say much about its coverage and application, so I'll have a more full review of it at another time.

All topped with Seche Vite

6/26/11 = Second Mani of The Day

So I have some time on my hands today and went with another mani. This is my first attempt at a nebula mani. I first saw this design on LHC several months ago by catiebloo. Being my first attempt it course ain't great, but I know what I did wrong on this one so I'll definitely be doing it again.

I started with a base color of Wet N Wild Black Creme, and then sponged on OPI DS Opulence, China Glaze Virtual Violet, OPI DS Extravagance and China Glaze Gamer Glam. I then topped it all of with Northern Lights top coat.

6-26-11 - Today's Mani

I tried to do a gradient mani again, this one turned out kind half-way decent, although it looks better from far away. So I've decided to share this one, since its not a hideous as my other tries.


China Glaze - Hawaiian Punch. This is a red shimmer polish. I normally like my reds to be creme, but I really like this one. Its pretty sheer so its a definite 3 coat polish. But the end result is great.

China Glaze - Black Diamond. This is a black shimmer which I think I've talked about before, the shimmer is really pretty on this one.

6-25-2011 - Today's Mani

Well I couldn't decide what to do for a mani today. So since all of my polishes are indexed and numbered and randomly picked three numbers and used the polish that corresponds to each number. The combination actually turned out better than it could have.

China Glaze - GR8 - This is a gold holo. I didn't get as good a holo effect on this one as I have on some of the other China Glaze holos, but its a nice polish.

OPI - DS Extravagance - This is a raspberry scattered holo polish. I really love this color.

Nubar - Black Chrome - This is a black shimmer polish. I only used it a little bit on this mani but in the past this polish has worked very well.

6-24-11 = Today's Mani

Today I have a straight simple mani for you.

Orly - Royal Velvet. This is a dark purple/midnight blue duochrome. The first coat was pretty much bleh, but the second coat was nice and the third coat was whoa :) The duo effect is awesome but unfortunately I couldn't get a good pic.







And I almost forgot, I stopped by Walgreens last night and picked up a new goodie

Sinful Colors - Verbena - This is a medium purple polish

6-23-2011 = Today's Mani

I decided to take a break from the crackle polishes for this one. Its soooooo hot that I'm still feeling the need for something cooling, so this one reminds me of the beach.

Wet N Wild - Caribbean Frost - This is a bluish green shimmer polish. Nice application and coverage

Zoya - Charla - This is a medium blue micro glitter with green shimmer. The sparkle on this one is great. Just wish the pic would catch it better.

6-22-11 = New Goodies

Picked up a couple of new beauties today.

Milani - Pool Party - This is a light iridescent blue

Wet N Wild - Caribbean Frost - This is a shimmery oceany green polish.

6-22-11 = Pink Wednesday

Its that time again, pink time. Yep, its Wednesday and of course on Wednesday We Wear Pink. If you're wondering what that's all about, check out the link on my side bar. In the meantime, today we have

China Glaze - Awaken - This is a dark gun metal silver metallic. I like this polish alot although it is a little tricky on the application. Its a bit gloopy on application.

China Glaze - Haute Metal - This is a the pink from the new metallic crackle collection which I used in the V-gap design. This one also has a really good crackle effect

I'm not sure why but I had a hard time getting a good pic of this one. But here it is anyway.

6-19-11 - Today's Mani

Its getting hot, really hot, so I thought I'd go with a mani that reminded me of coolness, like ice.

China Glaze - Blue Iguana - this a medium blue shimmer with purple micro glitter that you can't really see in the pics. This is a nice polish although it did seem a little runny. Its a bit transparent but with 3 coats I got a great color

China Glaze - Platinum Pieces - this is the silver crackle. So far I've really liked this collection, the crackle effect has been really great with the colors I've used so far.

6-18-11 - New Goodies

I think I forgot to mention it here, but on last Tuesday, I knocked my bottle of Zoya Casey off the table and it broke. I immediately ordered a replacement and to my good fortune Zoya was having a promotion of a free bottle of Ivanka and Charla with any purchase. So my Casey, Ivanka and Charla arrived today. I already have Ivanka so this one is a back up or it may become part of a possible future giveaway, you never what might happen :)

Charla is a very pretty blue micro glitter polish.

In all of the years I've been wearing polish (since I was a kid actually) I've never broken a bottle of polish before. I hope I never do again. But now I have a new one and all is good.

6-16-11 - Today's Mani

So I just couldn't wait to try out the new metallic crackles

China Glaze - Black Diamond - this is a black shimmer with multi colored super micro glitter

China Glaze - Latticed Lilac - this is a light lavender metallic crackle. This really crackled well for me, I'm very happy with the effect. Although I think it could have been a little more purpley

6-16-11 - Lots of New Goodies

So I picked up a few fun goodies over the last couple of days.


Yesterday morning I stopped by Walgreens and picked up Sally Hansen Distressed Denim. This is an electric blue creme crackle.



Then yesterday afternoon I stopped by a small beauty supply by my house and I picked up some polishes

China Glaze - Nasty - This is a dark wisteria pink creme

China Glaze - Free Fall - This is a light pink shimmer

OPI - Bling Dynasty - A gold shimmer



And today I hit the jackpot - The China Glaze Metallic Crackle Collection

Latticed Lilac - This is a lavender metallic

Oxidized Aqua - This is a teal/turquoise metallic

Platinum Pieces - This is a silver metallic. I'm not sure the bottle on this one is different then the others, but oh well.

Cracked Medallion - This is a bronze metallic

Haute Metal - This is a rose metallic

Tarnished Gold - This is a gold metallic.

I'm really looking forward to trying these out.

6-15-11 - Pink Wednesday

Today is Wednesday and we're wearing pink, albeit with a kind of crappy mani. And a new polish


Stopped by Sally's today and picked up China Glaze Solar Power. This is a medium yellow shimmer. I'm looking forward to doing a few things with this one.

For today's mani, I tried to do some lines free hand and they didn't turn out too great, but oh well, practice makes perfect.

Revlon - Tulip - This is a dark pink neon. This is a nice polish with good coverage and application.

Morbid - This one doesn't have a name, but its a black with silver glitter. Morbid is the Hot Topic brand. I like these polishes although they are little thin and runny.

6-13-11 - Today's Mani

It looks summer is upon us, its a hot today, but never too hot for a new mani :)
So for today we have


OPI - Purple With A Purple - This is a pretty medium purple shimmer. I was psyched when I realized it matches some candles I have in my living room. :)

OPI - Silver Shatter - I'm very happy with the crackle got on this mani.

Topped it all off with Out The Door topcoat.

6-9-11 - Today's Mani

Today I went with a straightforward simple mani.

Zoya - Casey - This is a dark black red reminiscent of the old Chanel Vamp/Revlon Vixen. I love the dark vampy colors. I remember back in the 90's Vixen was my go to color. I wore it all of the time. I actually still have a bottle of it. Anyway, back to Casey. This is a nice polish. Good application and coverage. Opaque in two coats but I did three for the added darkness.

6-8-11 - Pink Wednesday

Its Wednesday and like we do every Wednesday, We Wear Pink :) So for today I went with a reverse french.

China Glaze - Strawberry Fields - This is a dark pink shimmer with gold micro glitter. This had a good application and coverage. Good to go in two coats.

Essie - Shift Power - This is a gold metallic. This is my favorite gold polish, it has good coverage and is generally smooth in application.

6-5-11 - Today's Mani

I was in a stripey mood today and came up with this one

OPI - Rumple's Wiggin - This is a light lavender creme. This is a very pretty pastel. Great coverage and application. Totally opaque in two coats

OPI - Planks A Lot - This is medium purple creme. This is my first time using this polish. Great application and coverage. I love this shade.

OPI - Funky Dunkey - This is a dark purple creme. This is one of my favorite purple polishes.

Unfortunately the angle of the pic doesn't show the stripes as well as I would have liked.

6-4-11 - Today's Mani

Sadly I totally mangled my DV8 mani at work. So today I have a mani the colors of which my son Derek chose for me. I actually wouldn't have thought to put these two colors together, but they totally work.

OPI - Turquoise Shatter - this is a turquoise shimmer crackle polish. I like the application of this one and I think it crackled really well.

OPI - Need Sunglasses - This is a bright sunny yellow creme. I used three coats here with great coverage.

6-3-11 - Today's Mani

Well I just couldn't wait to try it.

China Glaze - DV8 - This is a turquoise holo polish. The application and coverage were great. I went with two coats. This has a really great linear holo effect, which unfortunately I couldn't get with my camera. This is the best pic I could and it was taken without flash.

6-2-11 = New Goodies

Today is a good day. I am now the happy owner of China Glaze DV8. I can't wait to try it out.

6-2-11 - Today's Mani

So I am slowly but surely getting through my unused polish. For today we have a simple mani

OPI - Light My Sapphire - This is a dark purple shimmer, so dark that its almost black. Application and coverage were good, full coverage in two coats.

Topped it with Seche Vite.

Finger Paints - Art You Kidding Me - This is a dark pink creme.

China Glaze - Strawberry Fields - This is a dark pink shimmer with gold micro glitter. Its doesn't show up very well in the pics but its very noticeable in real life.


Yep I'm stocking up on pinks for Wednesdays :)

China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy - This is super bright neon pink matte. Coverage was really good after three coats, although it was a bit thin & runny on the brush, but overall a good polish.

Sally Hansen - Antiqued Gold - This is a gold crackle polish. The crackle effect was so-so but not horrible.

And I topped it off the Essie Matte About You keep the matte effect of Flip Flop Fantasy
