7-30-11 = New Goodies

Had a couple of productive shopping trips over the last couple of days.

Yesterday a trip to Walgreens in the morning and Sally's in the afternoon resulted in a few new polishes

Sally Hansen - Emerald Express - This is a dark green shimmer

Finger Paints - Purple Crackle - I didn't know Finger Paints had even come out with a crackle line. They only have two though, this purple one, and bright a electric blue one. I didn't get the blue one.

Finger Paints - Vintage Velvet - This is a muted dusty green. A very unique color I'm looking forward to trying.

Finger Paints - Stunning Stilettos - This is a medium gray creme.

Then today I went to Ulta and picked up a few more

Zoya - Marley - This is a very light lavender shimmer.

Essie - Fair Game - This is a blue-gray shimmer. I can't wait to try this one. It looks like it going to be an awesome polish.

OPI - Pinking of You - This is a light pink

OPI - Blue My Mind - This is a bright electric blue shimmer

So awhile back, I filled up my polish rack and had to have some of my polishes in separate place, so today I added a level to the rack. Now everything fits and there is a little bit of room for growth.

7-30-11 = Today's Mani

Hope everything is having a good Saturday. Here are a couple of older polishes I hadn't gotten around to trying yet, I'm still trying to get through the unused pile.

OPI - Black Satin - This is a dark gunmetal shimmer. This is a great polish, smooth application and great coverage.

OPI - Royal Rajah Ruby - This is a dark burgundy shimmer. This an awesome color. The application and coverage is perfect and the color is very deep and shiny. I'm loving this one.

7-27-11 = Pink Wednesday

Its time for Piiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnkkkkkkk. If you're wondering what that's all about, check the button over on the sidebar, because We Wear Pink on Wednesday. So here we go.

China Glaze - Free Fall - This is a light pink shimmer. It got really smooth application and coverage is excellent it was good in one coat but I used two.

China Glaze - Cracked Concrete - This is a medium dark gray creme crackle polish. The crackle effect on this one worked really well.

7-24-11 - Today's Mani Part 2

Another mani for today. I had a bit of time this afternoon, so I brought out the water marbling stuff. I'm still working on perfecting my technique. I'm hoping to some time be able to get the same design on every finger. But until then, we get variety.

So for today's outing I went with all Essie polishes. I really like Essie but for some reason to I don't reach for them as much as some of my other brands. But they are an excellent

It Genius - This is a burgundy metallic polish. It always hard to get an idea about a polish when marbling so I definitely need to remember to use this polish in a regular mani.

Island Hopping - This is a really pretty dusty rose creme polish.

Loophole - This is a metallic silver polish. My favorite metallic silver.

7-24-11 = Today's Mani and New Goodie

So today I tried using an art pen. Its simple but fun.

OPI - Need Sunglasses - This is a really pretty sunshine yellow. Its very sheer but has nice application. I used four coats here.

I used the Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen for the design.

Have a Nice Day

I stopped by Sally's and got China Glaze Electric Pineapple for a buck. This is a neon yellow with green tint to it.

7-20-11 = Today's Mani

For today's mani we have a comparison. I decided I wanted to black with blue/green glitter tips. But I couldn't decide which glitter to use. So I did a comparison.

For the black I used Wet N Wild Black Creme - I have talked about this polish a lot so I won't go into all of that again

For the comparison

Index Finger - OPI - Sparkle Teal Sunrise

Middle Finger - China Glaze - Atlantis

Ring Finger - Butter London - Henley Regatta

Little Finger - Sinful Colors - Nail Junkie

The OPI, China Glaze and Sinful Colors are all very similar, while the Butter London is a much more compact glitter and not as sparkly as the others. I probably should have left it out of the comparison considering how different it is.

All of the them are nice but overall my vote goes to Atlantis. Although its hard to see in the pics, its by far the sparkliest, shiniest one of all of them. And I actually did the rest of my nails with Atlantis.

So which one do you like best?

7-20-11 = Pink Wednesday

Another week gone by and its time for Pink Wednesday again. For this week I have a simple mani.

Nubar - Brillant - This is a light pink scattered holo. It has a very smooth great application. Its very sheer and takes at least three coats for full opaqueness. But overall a really excellent polish.

7-17-11 - Today's Mani and New Goodies

First the new goody.

OPI - Keys to my Karma - this is a blood red creme

Photobucket

Today's Mani

OPI - Keys to My Karma - This is a very nice blood red creme. Nice application, good coverage but it is definitely a two coat polish, I went with three for the added darkness. ETA - After looking at this pic a bit more, I just wanted to add, the pic with just Keys to My Karma is without a topcoat. Sooo shiny all by itself.

OPI - Black Shatter - black crackle polish, its been awhile since I've used this and I was little worried because I have heard people say that their shatter got thick and goopy, but with a good shaking I didn't have any trouble.

OPI - Silver Shatter - silver metallic crackle polish. This crackle works well, although I probably could have gone a little thicker with it. But over all I like it.

7-17-11 = Forgotten Mani

I did this one a few days ago and totally forgot to put it up. I'm losing my mind for sure, actually I think its this ridiculous heat melting my brain, but anymore, here it is, better late than never

Orly - Sapphire Silk - This is a dark slate blue creme. Great coverage and application.

OPI - Servin Up Sparkle - And they aren't lying. This is full of small and large silver glitter pieces and the application from the brush is crazy with lots of glitter making it onto the nail. And boy is it super super sparkly.

Its last and I just finished this mani, so I'll get right to it.

Zoya - Rea - This is a light purple metallic foil. This is a pretty polish, overall good coverage and application.

China Glaze - Tarnished Gold - This is a gold metallic crackle. Like the other metallic crackles, this one has a really good crackle effect.

7-13-11 = Pink Wednesday

Its Wednesday, time to think pink. So let's get right to it.

OPI - Charged Up Cherry. This is a bright dark pink. This one was pretty runny and difficult to apply, it a nice color, but its a pain.

L.A. Girl - Uninhibited - This is a black glitter with a clear base. This applied very nicely, great coverage with a ton of glitter in each brush stroke. Best application of a glitter I have seen.

7-11-11 = New Goody

Thanks to Angeletti over at LHC, I've finally gotten the black glitter polish which I have spent years trying to find. And I literally mean years, I've been looking for black glitter polish for at least 4 years. So to say the least, I am a very happy camper right now. ;)

7-9-11 = Today's Mani

All over the internet I've been hearing about and seeing splatter nails. So today I though I'd give a whirl. This was a very tedious and time consuming mani. I'm not sure if I will do it very often. But it was fun, so who knows.

Ulta - White Snow - This is an okay white, it used to be my favorite white but I think OPI Alpine Snow gives better coverage.

Zoya - Paz - This is a bright orange creme

Zoya - Ali - This is a bright pink creme

Zoya - Pippa - This is a bright yellow creme

7-6-11 - Pink Wednesday & New Goodies

Its Wednesday, weeeeeeee time for a bit o' pink, because, all together now, On Wednesdays We Wear Pink. If anyone is wondering what its all about just check out the link on my side bar. So lets get down to business.

Zoya - Dovima - This is a black shimmer matte. I really like this polish. The application and coverage are awesome. I used two coats for this mani and it went on like a dream.

OPI - We'll Always Have Paris (Suede) - This is a pink suede polish. It has good coverage and application and is great in two coats.

Overall I'm very much digging both of these polishes.

Photobucket

So we took care of the pink, now its time for the goodies.

OPI Serena Williams Glam Slam England Set. This is comes with

Grape...Set...Match - A medium dark purple glitter

Servin Up Sparkle - A silver multi sized glitter.

I'm looking forward to using both of these colors.

7-3-11 - New Goodies

Today Ulta launched an OPI Ulta Exclusive Summer Collection offering four new colors. A midnight blue shimmer, a blackened blue shimmer, these two look very very similar, although one was a bit lighter than the other, a silver glitter in a white shimmer base, and a blue/green glitter that is very similar to China Glaze Atlantis. None of them really did anything for me other than the Atlantis dupe, which is the one I bought, its called Sparkle Teal Sunrise. I don't remember the names of the other three.

I also picked up a new brand from England that Ulta has started to carry called Butter London. This brand is a bit pricey at $14.00 per bottle. I only bought one to see if I like it. I chose Henley Regatta which is a blue/green glitter polish.

For some reason I'm in a blue/green glitter mood today, must be because its so hot out that I keep thinking of beach and this color reminds me of mermaids.

Anyway, that's the haul for today.

7-1-11 - 4th of July Mani

It didn't turn quite as well as I had hoped so I may end up doing something else before Monday, but for now here it is.

I did a stripe of OPI Alpine Snow and then put OPI Red Shatter on top of the white stripe then a stripe of Orly LaPlaya and put OPI White Shatter on top of the blue stripe and then a stripe of Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby and then put OPI Navy Shatter on stop of the red stripe.

So we'll see if I keep it or not.

7-1-11 - New Goodies

So my mind is definitely on what I'm going to do for my 4th of July mani and my quest for the perfect 4th of July red.

Sinful Colors - Ruby Ruby - this is a dark blood red

Wet N Wild - Red Red - This is a bright red
